Will Mellor – How I met him?
I was meandering around the internet and checking out sites that might have potential men for this site when, there, on my screen, there was Will Mellor. I didn’t know him, I didn’t recognize him, I basically had no clue who he was. I started searching and I found out that he is an English actor and a former pop star.
As a youngster he lived in Stockport and attended Bredbury Green Primary School and later attended Werneth School, Great Manchester. He is the youngest in his family with four older sisters. He first made it into the public eye when he played Ben Rowlingson in the children’s program Children’s Ward. In 1993 he had a trial for Vauxhall Motors FC and was about to sign with them but a split with his manager Alex Tannin put a hault to that but did strengthen his decision to begin a career in acting.
In 1995 he joined the cast of the soap opera, Hollyoaks where he played the role of James Bolton or Jambo. He left that show in 1998 and soon afterwards he released a cover version of Leo Sayer’s When I Need You as a single. It managed to make it to number five on the British charts and then a follow up single called NO Matter What I Do made it to number 23.
