Rob Lowe - an old favorite of mine
My first memory of Rob Lowe was from About Last Night. While others going wild over him in St. Elmo’s fire and The Outsiders, I was still dreaming of him in About Last Night. I just couldn’t let it go. Then, he shows up as Sam Seaborn on The West Wing and as Senator Robert McCallister on Brothers & Sisters. I mean, really, could the guy stay any busier?
There was that sex scandal back in 1988 when there was footage of him having sex with two females, on of whom was only sixteen. So, now, I don’t know about you but I think all his great things makes me question the validity of that. But, he did later enter a rehab clinic for alcohol and sex addiction. But, he came back and later mocked himself as host of two post-scandal SNL episodes.
And you know, when you lead a life like he does (full on media), you will have other problems. He signed lawsuits against 3 former employees accusing them of break of contract, defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress. I’m not even getting into that because it is really ugly and he looks too good to be worried about ugly, right?
We all know about the old stuff, but honestly, I didn’t realize he had been so busy as he has aged. He has a movie coming out in 2009 entitled This Side of the Truth. Then, we have stuff like Brothers and Sisters, The Christmas Blessing, Perfect Strangers, View from the Top and surely, don’t forget The West Wing.
