Jason Lezak - Not as well known but popular, all the time
Jason Lezak swam an amazing anchor leg where he came from behind and outtouched a French simmer at the wall to keep Phelp’s bid to break Mark Spitz’s record of seven gold medals. And, so…..who is this Jason Lezak.
Well, he was born in 1975 in Irvine California. He was part of the 4 by 100 meter medley relay in 2003 and he competed in several events in the 2004 Olympic Games. He was a member of the 4 by 100 meter medley relay team that set a world record and he also won a bronze medal in the 4 by 100 meter freestyle relay.
This year, 2008, the Summer Olympics in Beijing has Lezak anchoring the 4 by 100 meter freestyle relay team and as you know…they took gold last night. That earned him the fastest 100 meter freestyle split in history by nearly six tenths of a second.
