He is an American actor and a director and he is known for his roles of Darryl in 1988 comedy film Coming to America and, as I mentioned, Dr. Peter Benton during the first eight seasons for the NBC drama series ER.

Where else you wanna look?  Well, you can find him in the HBO made-for-TV movie Rebound;  The Legend of Earl “The Goat” Manigault.  He was in such movies as One Hour Photo and directed Soul Food:  The Series on Showtime.

Recently he has been a Jamaican gangster in the film Johnny Was opposite Vinnie Jones, Samantha Mumba, Lennox Lewis and Roger Daltrey.  La Salle lived in Belfast for four weeks filming the movie and then he supported it at the North American premiere of the film at the Black American film festival in Miami.

He has even recently directed Law and Order:  SVU and of course, he is going to show up on ER to close this show out after all these years.

Anyway, I’m taking this opportunity to chastise People Magazine for not having any really hot hot hot men in the top 10 Sexiest Men of 2008.  I mean, c’mon, Zac?  I’m sorry, but he can’t be sexy.

Sexy is lean and mean and buff and strong and well, in my book it is tall and bald too but, anyway, that’s not my point.  Wait, yes it was my point too.  How could they keep all the hotties out of the list.  Shemar Moore wasn’t even in there.  What in the heck is that about? 

I’m not sure what’s happening at People Magazine but I do know something that’s happening that might help you win a prize…

I am in the process of kicking off a “12 Days of Christmas” Give-away(s) on three of my blogs.  They are Mom~E~Centric, Education Uncensored and Mom is Teaching.

You can find full posts with vendors names on each site.  I am writing to ask you to help promote the give-a-way in one way or another, simply word of mouth, the internet, our great social forums like TwitterMoms and Blogher or your own blog or website/network.

The rules and terms and conditions will all go up in a post tomorrow but for you here, so you have a heads up, here’s how the contest will work.

Here’s the deal on Ed Westwick.  He plays a bad boy on Gossip Girl and is 21 and calls his dating style “childish at times, passionate, a little crazy”.  He says he prides himself on being one of the last romantics.  Oh and he even includes that his weakness is his neck and that when girls get close to his neck, it makes crazy things happen.  Yea, ok, he is still a baby ya’ll.

Now, Michael Phelps, now we are talking.   I think we all know about the accolades of this swimmer and the Olympics this past summer.  And, how in the world could anyone miss those abs.  He has definitely made himself a very well known swimmer and er…after looking at these photos….he is just plain ol’ well know if you ask me.

He has 14 career Olympic gold medals, the most by any Olympian and he also holds seven world records in swimming.  He holds the records for the most gold medals won at a single Olympics with the eight golds he won in 2008.  he surpassed Mark Spitz who held the previous gold medal total with the seven that he won in 1972.

For these 2 rounds of Sexists Men in 2008, I’d be inclined to keep Phelps but get rid of Westwich and add a dose of…say…how about George Eads?

He told People Magazine that “a mother came up and grabbed my butt cheeks!” at school drop-off.  He said he was caught off guard and wonder how in the world that could be an ok thing for her to do.  I don’t know if I could be that brave or not, but hey, he is the married dad of 3 kids and they did find it entertaining.  I would find it entertaining too.

So, where else can he be found, because he really is nice to look at?  He started in 1985 in Knight Rider, The Cosby Show, spent time on One Life to Live in 1986, and of course there is LA Law from 1987 to 1994.  Later you can see him in The Cover Girl and the Cop, Murder in Mississippi, Heat Wave, A Different World, High Incident, Sex and the City, LAX,  Covert One:  The Hades Factor, Law and Order: SVU and In Treatment.

And, just in case you are wondering who my pick for this round of the sexiness would be?  Yea, I’m taking Blair Underwood too.  What about you?

He is a native to Southern California and earned a degree in economics degree from the University of California, San Diego and spent a year working as an economic consultant before moving to Los Angeles to pursue an entertainment career. 

Oh a smart man…whooo hoooo!  As a college student he was even a contestant on the Price is Right and one of his beds was for $1 less than another contestant. 

He has also been seen as Kirby Atwood on the NBC TV series Lipstick Jungle.  Later in 2006, he starred in 3 movies, When a Killer Calls, Petrified and Capturing Q.  He also played Michael Bauer at the House of Gianni which is a fashion house located in Los Angeles.

I guess, all in all, even if he is a youngster, he looks pretty good, there was just so many more obvious choices.

Ok, so he is smart, he has a great body and he is now declared sexy.  My next pick would have been Gary Dourdan from CSI.  I know, I know he is no longer on CSI and his departure wasn’t really pretty, but does that really matter when we are talking about sexy?  I mean, it is hard for me to look at these young guys as sexy but I guess that’s just my problem, eh?

Ok, “something big” refers to quite a few things, BUT THE BIGGEST OF THE BIGGEST IS….

Disney Channel Original Movie High School Musical and the WB series Summerland, the film version of the Broadway musical hairspray.  Right before High School Musical 2, Rolling Stone declared him the “poster boy for tweenyboppers” and featured him in their late August issue.

He graduated from Arroyo Grande High School in 2006 and then accepted into the University of Southern California but he deferred his enrollment while he worked on film projects.  He says he will return at some point.  He then went to Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts which allowed him to perform as a “young player” during 2000 and 2001.

So, where can you find him?  Well, as far off as 2010, he will be Ren McCormack in Footloose, as well as in 2009, he will be Richard Samuels in Me and Orson Welles.  Also, as Mike O’Donnell in 17 Again in 2009.

My pick would have been Dominic Purcell, must I say more?

He was born in Missouri and attended John Burroughs School along with the University of Missouri.  And, hey, People, Brad PItt and Dan Schuchman were there too on scholarship studying acting.  While in college, he worked as a daycare teacher.  Now there’s a tough job, just ask me, I know first hand. 

He made his first professional acting debut with The Hughleys and the same year he had a small role in the feature film Space Cowboys followed by Kissing Jessica Stein and We Were Soldiers.  He then had recurring roles on television in Providence, The Division, What About Brian and The Unit…oh how I love The Unit.

He has also been seen on We Were Soldiers, Gilmore Girls, Charmed, CSI:  Miami, Numb3rs, The Sarah Silverman Program, and of course, as I already mentioned, Mad Men.

Now, my number 3 sexy position would have gone to Amaury Nolasco, just look at this guy.

His girlfriend Satsuki Mitchell was in London for the premiere of the latest 007 film Quantum of Solace.  He is a British actor and his current onscreen girl is Olga Kurylenko and she says he suits the part of James Bond perfectly.  Ok, whatever they say.

In his early film roles, The Power of One, A Kid in King Arthur’s court and Sharpe’s EAgle as well as The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles:  Daredevils of the Desert were part of what made him what he is today.  And, honestly, he looks good but sexy?  I still just don’t see it at all.  He also starred in a breakthrough performance  in Layer Cake and Lara Croft:  Tomb Raider with Angelina Jolie. 

I bet Angelina doesn’t think he is the sexiest man alive.  I bet you anything she is more of a Brad Pitt kind of gal too.  According to Vogue magazine, Craig is the highest paid actor in Britain right now too.

His most recent roles, I, Lucifer, Defiance, Quantum of Solace, Casino royale, didn’t hurt his cause for becoming the Bond man now did it?  And, in case you don’t know, he started out in The Power of One, Sharpe’s Eagle, our Friends in the North, The Ice House, Love and Rage, The Trench and I Dreamed of Africa.

My second place guy would have definitely been Shemar Moore.
